Kopacki rit nature park is in the vicinity of Osijek, remaining one of the largest preserved natural wetlands in Europe. Situated at the confluence of Drava and the Danube rivers, this largest inner delta of the Danube is home to more than 290 species of birds, such as the white-tailed eagle, Žwhite and black storks, herons, cormorants, swans and wild ducks. It is the largest freshwater fish hatchery in the Danube, but also home to hundreds of other species of animals. The nature park spreads over 17,700 hectares, of which the Special zoological reserve covers 8,000 hectares. The value of Kopacki rit is that the landscape is continually changing with seasons, but also influenced by water fluctuations. In the nature park, you can rent a bicycle, observe birds, ride a tourist train, tourist boats, small boats or canoes, walk on educational trails, listen to deer's roar, go fishing etc. In Kopacki rit nature park there is also the rustic pasture Belja with Pannonian autochthonous Slavonian-Srem Podolac cattle herds. In the dense forests of the Tikves hunting ground, known for its famous Baranja deer, there is a complex of Tikves castles. Formerly known Imperial residence of the Habsburg family, and then Tito - the president of Communist Yugoslavia, will soon become a modern interpretation centre.
