Principovac Castle is located near the centre of the historic and wine-growing town of Ilok, on a landscaped hill with a stunning view of Ilok, Srijem and Bačka. It was built in 1864 as a summer residence of the princely Odescalchi family, who stayed here during hunting and grape harvesting. Today, completely renovated and repurposed into an attractive food and wine destination, it has become an essential destination for all tourists visiting the east of Croatia. Within the restaurant, there is an observation deck that offers a view of all four corners of the world. The country estate also has a golf and tennis court, walkways through the vineyard and a large ceremonial hall, which in recent years has become the first choice of all newlyweds from these parts.
