Danube
The Danube is 2,857 km long (21st place in the world, 2nd in Europe), and the area of the basin is 817,000 square km (25th place in the world). The bed of the Danube stretches through the territories of 9 countries (Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine). The section through Serbia is 588 km long, and for a length of 230 km it flows along the state border. The Danube has exceptional complementary values along its coast, the most prominent of which are: cultural and historical heritage, archaeological sites, vineyards with wine cellars, as well as a network of canals, moors and special nature reserves, bathing areas and more. In terms of tourism valorization, the Danube is an attraction of international importance.
